FOR THE LOVE OF WATCHMAKING
KAGAMIMOCHI
About the manufacture:
We collaborated with a dream team of specialists to develop and manufacture Kagamimochi:
La Fabrique du Temps (Louis Vuitton Group) for the manufacture of our cases in 316L stainless steel, 750 white gold and 750 4N rose gold.
Metelem in Le Locle for the manufacture of our lightly grained white and salmon dials with voluminous wet-look printing.
We continue our collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier for the heart of Kagamimochi, the hand-finished 5401 micro-rotor movement.
Our consultant watchmaker is the reknowned Emmanuel Bouchet and his talented colleagues at Maclef Sarl in Les Bayards.
Limited to 25 individually numbered pieces.
Kagami mochi (鏡餅, "mirror rice cake") is a traditional Japanese New Year decoration. It consists of two round mochi (rice cakes), the smaller one placed on top of the larger one.
The two mochi cakes symbolize the going and coming years. Kagami mochi first appeared in the Muromachi period (14th–16th century). The name kagami ("mirror") originated from its resemblance to an old-fashioned kind of round copper mirror.
Kagamimochi is our second timepiece. The 39mm case sits flat on the wrist, the dial is simple and elegant. This is an everyday dress watch. In profile, the bezel sits on top of the main case and resembles the mochi cakes that give Kagamimochi its name. For more pictures see the gallery.

PDCH02
The PdCH01 calibre was developed by our partner Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Its slim 2.6mm profile, is only possible due to the off-centred Tungsten micro-rotor, which is directly integrated into the main plate. The variable inertia balance ensures optimal isochronism. The bridges are rhodium-plated, and decorated with Côtes de Genève.
